Ladbroke Grove fine for Network Rail

Network Rail was today fined £4million for Health and Safety failures in connection with the Ladbroke Grove Rail crash in 1999.

The fine follows a previous admission that their predecessor, Railtrack had failed to ensure safety pursuant to S.3 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Andrews Angel advised the train drivers’ union Aslef in connection with this matter, particularly, at the direction of the judge, Mr. Justice Bean, making representations to the Crown Prosecution Service as to the level of Network Rail’s breaches. Obtaining such input on behalf of a third party in a case was quite unprecedented and shows the proactive and visionary approach that Andrews Angel Solicitors brings to its representation of its clients.
